Shen Yun Zuschauerstimmen: Boris Brott, orchestra conductor
“What is interesting is that the colors of these instruments combining—with the pipa, the erhu, and violin, cello, and Western trumpet—creates a completely different combined sound that I find fascinating. It’s a new sound for me.
One hears solos from one, solos from the other, but ultimately it’s the blend of these sounds that I find interesting. Music basically touches our soul. The expression of the stories is so well told by the music. And the dancing is just spectacular, the acrobatics is… and also, what I found fascinating is this new film technique of being able to have the dancers disappear and reappear on the screen. I’m not sure how it works, but I’m interested to find out…
It’s a performance that brings to mind all the senses—our eyes, our ears, and our hearts. And that’s what’s important.”
